First Ideation

In the first part of the ideation process, we set out to think of as many ideas as possible. This was just after the first interview with our participant, and our research. All ideas were noted, which did include some that overestimated the capabilities of the child of our participant, however, as these are also part of our process, they sould not just be thrown away, rather learned from.

Chosen Concepts

1. Interactive book

2. Play cube

3. Window sheet

More information

After looking at the requirements, and discussing the ideas, three different concepts were chosen. All supporting the idea of combining multiple games to ensure long entertainment.

Final concept

Chosen concept:
Interactive book

The final concept was chosen in a co-design session with the participant. The concepts were explained together with visuals, after which a preference for the book was expressed. This as the book would be easy to carry, as it just fits inside a backpack. Making the book include sound, something that we included in our ideas, was discussed as well, from which was concluded that it would be a nice bonus, however not necessary.

How we went from the idea to the concept, was through a low-fidelity prototype. From this we are able to improve and conclude if our idea is one that satisfies the participant.
